Samira Habash

Samira is a full-time faculty member in the Speech Communication Department who has been teaching since she earned her M.A. degree from California State University, Long Beach in 1998. Professor Habash teaches an array of courses at Long Beach City College, including: Argumentation and Debate, Intercultural Communication, Small Group Communication, Public Speaking, and Interpersonal Communication. Outside of the classroom, Professor Habash enjoys running, volleyball, water-sports, as well as spending quality time with close friends and family

Betty Martin

I have had the privilege of teaching Speech Communication classes at Long Beach City College since 1986. In fact, I was also a student here after graduating from Long Beach Jordan High School (and Lindbergh Middle School and Bret Harte Elementary School) as well as later as an "older" returning student.
It is an honor to be associated with LBCC and have the opportunity to work with the students. Please join our classes and be part of the Long Beach City College community.

Lynne Misajon, Department Head

Lynne Misajon was born and raised in Long Beach, She received her;
A.A. At LBCC, B.A. & M.A. in Speech Communication at CSULB
Lynne was a Co-owner of Communication Consulting company.
She was awarded Outstanding Teacher of the year by the Intercultural Cultural Communication Association in 1993. She introduced and taught an Assertive Communication class at Golden West College for the Nursing Program. Lynne was the Director of Forensics at LBCC before securing a position as AWS Advisor.
Her education focused primarily on Women's issues and Intercultural Communication, she also teaches Public Speaking, Group Comm, and Interpersonal Comm.
Her most cherished positions in life are as a wife, mother and grandmother she says "Teaching is a gift, I am grateful to all my students because communication is reciprocal thus, we learn from each other."

Analisa Ridenour

Analisa Ridenour has a teaching emphasis on "Performance and Culture" Her creative M.A thesis: "Taking Back the Trinity; In the Name of the Mujer" was awarded outstanding thesis in College of Social Sciences in 1995 from CSULB. She continues to foster that love of culture and performance in the classroom by helping students feel more confident and comfortable in front of one another as well as help students reflect and appreciate cultural differences and strategies. Analisa is also an advocate for the preservation of mid-century architecture in the greater Los Angeles area; She is involved salvaging buildings that relate to the "car-culture era of the 1950's." Whether it be in the classroom or the community, Analisa feels speech is a invaluable asset to one's personal, professional and social circle.
